How to use your Israeli Cellcom SIM Card?
If you purchased a Cellcom SIM card from us, please refer to the instructions below for various topics, including how to make calls, access voicemail, send text messages, connect to the internet, and more. Before your trip
Our Israeli SIM card will work in any GSM Unlocked phones.
Before arriving in Israel, please contact your mobile carrier to confirm your phone is unlocked.
USING YOUR PHONE NUMBERS
- Calling a local number in Israel: Dial the 10-digit phone number without the Israel 972 country code. For example: 05x xxxxxxx
- Calling an international number from Israel: Dial the Israel international access code 00, followed by your destination country code and the phone number. For example: 00-country code-number Calling Israel from a different country:
- Calling a local Israeli number: Dial the country code followed by the phone number. For example: +972 5x xxxxxxx or 00972 5x xxxxxxx
- **Your USA contacts can call you using the USA/Canada number assigned to your SIM card: They will dial your local USA/Canada phone number without any international prefixes, just as they would for a local call. This applies ONLY to packages for the USA/Canada: Use only the 00 prefix for international calls to avoid incurring additional charges.
Please note that calling 1800 / 1900 numbers is not included in the plan and may incur charges.
Calling USA/Canada from Israel:
- Dial the phone number using this format: 00 – country code – number
For example, to call a USA/Canada number, dial: 00-1-1234567890
INTERNET TROUBLESHOOTING
Internet Troubleshooting for Android users Usually, the SIM card will assign settings automatically. FOR ANY INTERNET PROBLEMS, FOLLOW THESE STEPS: GO TO: Settings → Data Usage (or Mobile Networks) → Ensure that “Mobile Data” (or “Data Enabled”) is ON ADD A NEW APN (ACCESS POINT NAME): Select: Settings → More Settings / More Networks → Mobile Networks → Access Points Name, then press the MENU button. Click: NEW APN and apply only the following settings: Name: cellcom APN: internetg SAVE it. Do not modify any other settings. Check again to confirm that you can now connect to the internet.
Internet Troubleshooting for iPhone users Usually, the SIM card will assign settings automatically. FOR ANY INTERNET PROBLEMS, FOLLOW THESE STEPS: GO TO: Settings → Cellular → Ensure that Cellular Data is ON THEN GO TO: Settings → General → Reset Press: RESET NETWORK SETTINGS Check again to confirm that you can now connect to the internet.
Using your SIM card
Important:
- If your phone has dual-SIM slots → use our Cellcom SIM cards only in slot #1.
- The SIM card will automatically search for and connect to the mobile network.
- Insert the SIM only after landing in Israel and while the phone is turned off.
- If you don’t have network coverage, turn off the phone, remove the SIM card, reinsert the SIM card, and turn the phone back on.
- Calls to 144 (Directory Inquiries), 1800, 1888, and 1900 numbers are not included in the package and may incur additional charges.
- We strongly recommend using WiFi for data-intensive activities, such as streaming videos, uploading and downloading pictures, and Skype voice calls.
Voicemail
To access voicemail, dial: *80 The default password is: 1234# *If it’s not working, contact us, and we will reset it for you.
SIM card packaging
The SIM frame and packaging contain your PUK #. Please retain the SIM frame and packaging, as they may be required for customer service.
International text messages
Our SIM cards don’t support sending international text messages. We recommend using messaging apps like WhatsApp, Skype, etc., as alternatives.
Using WhatsApp: Download ‘WhatsApp’ before leaving your home country, and stay connected with all your ‘WhatsApp’ contacts after arriving in Israel. See our guide on how to use WhatsApp with our SIM cards.
Local Israeli apps
If you register for Israeli apps or services (such as taxi or parking services) using our SIM cards, ensure that you disconnect and remove your personal information from the apps before leaving Israel. We will not be responsible for any charges incurred.
